Hi all,
I'm looking for a nice little local craft fair in the Southeastern portion of
PA, or nearby areas in NJ and MD for February or March. I want to spend
some time visiting relatives and would like to recoup the trip expenses with
a show. Please let me know if you're aware of any, even if it's only the
name of a town where you're pretty sure there is a show! I can always call
the chamber of commerce to try and track them down.
By the way, in looking at the archives to see if anyone had mentioned any
shows previously, I was again amazed at the notes from potters who do not do
craft shows or art fairs because they say they don't make sense financially.
I generate 90% of my sales through these shows and am very happy doing it for
all the reasons others have given in the past. And selling pots is my sole
source of income. The point I want to make is that once you find a method of
selling that you enjoy, stick with it and find the right venues be they
galleries or shows or whatever to make it work. There are negatives and
positives to any method of marketing, you just have to find the ones that
suit you best and work hard at it.
