Our ceramics studio at the U of Oregon has recently begun to venture into
the world of slip casting and plaster mold making. We have found some
interesting products to help prevent tracking plaster dust from the
plaster room to the rest of the studio. http://www.mcmaster.com sells
these sticky mats that suck the dust off of your feet, this site calls
them "contamination control matting".

Further down on the page I found foot warming mats for sale too. They're
a pretty penny though (well, I guess as much as a good heater). $46, $63,
$70
Here's the description:

Keep your feet warm while working in cold, drafty rooms- just place our
radiant heat mat on any cold surface. They're fire resistant and operate
on 120 VAC, 60 Hz.

Rubber- Flexible, corrugated black rubber mats are thermostatically
controlled to maintain a constant temperature. They are 3/8" thick and
have a 66 1/2" cord. Electrical

Testing Laboratories approved.

Carpet- Insulated carpet mat has a gray surface. Mat features a high/low
heat selection switch. Mat is 1/2" thick and has a 70" cord. UL listed
and CSA certified.

Some fun stuff
