Well, Joyce, you can't do everything at once, as you already
know. And, in truth, work like Kurt's requires a particular
mind set - most folks just don't have that kind of patience,
even if they could conjure up the imagery. So - never hurts
to try something, but if it is not your forte, get on to some
other thing that suits your style better.

I have watched Kurt's work just grow and blossom over
the past couple of years - it's truly remarkable, and extremely
personal. It fits him well, obviously. I couldn't do it on a
bet - I've not the patience - but I love to look at it.

regards

Anyone who needs a little inspiration and/or just wants to
look at some remarkable work, take a look at this website.
Kurt Wild's newest stuff. Gets better every other minute

Thanks, Dannon, for sharing Kurt's new work. Sigh. I'm really =
struggling with the fumable salts that he uses ..... he's been more =
than generous with advice .... so I was beginning to think that maybe I =
could get there in time. NOW that I see the new work I'm back to square =
minus four. THIS work I'm firing okay (as compared to Hank's shinos =
which looked great on tests but the latest load looked tacky ..... have =
a load in now ....) and Kurt's base glazes are delightful (from CM) =
..... and the salts do what they're supposed to do. My problem is the =
sgraffitto .... too wide...... too narrow..... too messy .... skipped =
spots..... too impatient.....

Even so..... along with the frustration... it's a delight to see the =
even more complex images Kurt is conjuring ..... however, my last load =
of Kurt-inspired work is waiting in the pickup at this moment for =
delivery to the dump. As often happens with my pottery, the tests went =
well. But when I get serious is when I begin making the mistakes I =
would better have made while testing. Sigh.

Dannon
thanks for letting us know that Kurt had new work up on his site. As one
doesn't have the ability, okay patience, to do intricate delicate work, I am in
awe of his work. Also as a member of the CPFA (ceramic pot fondlers anonymous)
I enjoy holding my tea warmed Wild mug, and tracing the pattern with my finger as
I read my my email in the AM, as we all know the only thing better than looking
is touching.

Millie in Md. Beautiful fall day, the yellow jackets are feasting on the apples
that are still dropping from my two apple trees, I have given away lots of
apples, and dried and canned, and frozen. how can two dwarf trees produce so
much? there is something pleasing about being able to go out into your own
suburban yard ( my little 1/4 acre) and picking fresh food from the garden or tree
and eating it. I am truly greatful for what I have.
