When I lived in North Carolina I purchased clay from Highwater Clays in
Asheville. I have had no problems with it since 1985 and now that I live in
Northern Michigan, I still have my clay shipped up here from them. It has
always been clean and consistent. I use their Phoenix clay. They are also
very helpful in solving your clay problems.

OH boy! Same problems going on here too. Mistery stuff in the clay that
shouldn't be here. Another company-KIck Wheel in Atlanta Georgia-the white
stoneware cone 10 clay. Should we start a black list? I am testing some
clays again so how about it? I am in the U.S. Please, those potters who
live here what are the best companies to buy GOOD clay from? I live in
the eastern US in North Carolina. How about some help out there. Susan
