Ah, patience---now, we potters should know something about that! But, whe=
n
it comes to a book on glazes by two of our Clayart glaze experts, well,
that is truly another thing altogether. Then, patience is hard to master.=

So, we impatiently await the book. It is good to hear that it is so near
being ready to print. 2002 will bring us this book, and that is something=

to look forward to in the coming year.

Yes, Veena it is good to hear that these two have collaborated on
writing a book not only about glazes, but about durable and stable
glazes, at the cone 6 level.
Those working in cone 6 have a real treat coming their way. The
glazes are beautiful, the information on formulating your own is
thorough, and the advice on durability is excellent. I know, I was
given the honor of being one of the proof readers. You guys are in
for a real treat. Meticky Liz

Who are John and Ron and what will be the name of their book on glazes?
Are these oxidation glazes?

Hi Karen,

Ron is Ron Roy. I'm John. The title of the book is Mastering Cone 6 Glazes
and the focus is on oxidation firing. We have learned/confirmed that you can
get some pretty amazing (and of course durable) glazes out of plain old
vanilla electric kilns and we'll be showing some pictures of some of them
when we launch our website in another few weeks.

Regards,

John Hesselberth

I understand the question better so I have a better answer:
Hi Karen
Enter to :http://amsterlaw.com/ go to links There are links to the
sites of the clayart people http://amsterlaw.com/clayart.htm or to
http://www.milkywayceramics.com/links.htm
Or
http://users.skynet.be/russel.fouts/favorite.htm

Visit the artists too.

This last one let's you search in the archives. You insert Ron Roy or
John Hesselberth
Better with an E mail and get a lot of answers.
Now to save you another E mail: My name is Ababi I am a male not Mel
and love to send E mails.
My last name Sharon. Neither related to prime minister. Nor the
political view Yet we both live in the Negev.

Both John and Ron are good people as you could see from John's letter.
As you will realize after reading theirs to the group.

Dear John and Ron,
I have got the patience of Job where the book is concerned.

In the meanwhile, I am sucking down Hamer and Hamer, and have a few on my
holiday list
(if I have been good) , like Vince's and Mikes. Lisa's Cookbook also
because all work and no play
makes Jack a dull boy.

Good luck with all the publishing details,

My first use of this wonderful information will not use any of the =
recipes. First I want to know what the improved firing schedule will do =
for the glazes I'm already familiar with. I'm getting a head start, =
making tiles and test pieces so I'll be ready for the hundred or so =
tests I'll need just to see the new possibilities in my glazes. =20
Thank you John and Ron !
