Here is the recipe:
Toshiko's semi Matte Black cone 9 to 10, oxidation or reduction (CM Jan
84,page 11)

Kona F 4 spar (soda spar) 37.4
Kaolin 18.7
Cornwall stone 18.7
Whiting 18.7
Zinc oxide 6.5
Bentonite 2.0

add
red Fe oxide 20.0
Cobalt carb 5.0
Manganese carb 1.00

The glaze without oxide additions can be used by itself as Toshiko semi
matte white. Both great glazes.

Not a durable glaze - way low in silica - even worse in reduction cause the
iron fluxes.

As a white without the colours it is still low in silica.

On the other hand - if the ZnO leaves the picture changes - you should test
it with and with out the ZnO.

No toxins that are a problem in the glaze but it may change in use - OK I
know it will change in use because of all that iron.

Beware the dust and fumes from Manganese dioxide and Manganese carbonate
when mixing and firing.
