Some time ago there was a discussion on the list about using granite in =
glazes.
We get a granite slurry from a local grave-stone mill in the area, from =
which we make a nice
light grey-green celadon glaze. The granite slurry is not pure, as it =
has some marble dust.
We treat it in glazes as a feldspar with a lot of silica in it. The =
slurry is dried and then screened
80 mesh.
Here's the glaze; cone 8-9 reduction
Granite dust 22
Petalite 21
Kent.Ball cl.om4 15
Silica 14
Whiting 11
Ferro frit 3195 11
Zircopax 4
Red iron 1
Bentonite _1_
100
Hope it works for you, br. Augustine
