I believe the person doing the experimenting was Robin Hopper. If I
remember correctly, I read about it in one of his books. I'm sorry I
can't give you the title - I've checked my bookshelves and it seems to
be one that I don't own.

in his book, The Ceramic Spectrum. I have an older
copy and don't know what kind of revisions he
made, or whether they're in the new revision.
