When I taught and directed children's theatre, we had a similar problem with
people thinking anything goes. Instead of working, studying, and getting a
good background on which to build.....often, the parents just wanted to make
"stars" of their children. No time to learn principles, team work, or the
classics. All they wanted to know was how they could "make it" in show biz.
Working with the kids was a joy.....I don't miss the stage mom and dads.
Too often people want short cuts and miss what is important along the way.
Toni Smith, happy with my clay because it doesn't talk back! (Well, most of
the time.)
