Following five years and several million pounds
restoration, extension and refurbishment, HRH Charles
Prince of Wales opened THIRTY GALLERIES at the Victoria
& Albert this evening.

Officially our National Museum of the Decorative Arts,
it covers the centuries 1500-1900 of British Art and
Craft. Everything from suits of armour to teapots...

It opens to the public on Thursday and also dropped the
£5 entrance fee, so next time you are in London go
along and check it out for FREE!!

Thanks Janet for that good news. Heard it on the TV as well.

I've been to the top floor there so many times now, waiting for all these
additions and alterations to be completed. Each time I asked I was given a
different date:-)

So now head for the top floor and give yourself a full day to drink it all
in.

There's one problem. The very good restaurant is on the ground floor in the
NW corner of the museum. Quite a trek away.

But all in all it is one good reason for visiting London. I cannot think of
many others!
Still need to take your dust mask with you of course and hold tight to your
belongings.
