Sometime ago I asked what was shino. I got some reply.
Tom buck explained me logically.
Marta M. Gloviczki answered spiritually.
Lee answered me geographically
I do not see in the near or far future and I will have a gas kiln or
wood kiln.
So What to do.
I decided to try and imitate it. Should I call it False Shino? No
Fake Shino? No way!
So I called it Follow Shino. (FSBland) I am not faking not falsing.
Trying to make in my limited unlimited possibilities kind of shino
glaze.
The idea was the result of interactions of some glazes I had tested.
I used the TRIAXIAL bland in Matrix. (How do you pronounce it!).
It was my "Un offical degree of master of craft".
Because some of the functions of Matrix are
not clear to me yet, I made it a bit complicated. the next time, I will
make these recipes with less materials .
Very important. there is a lot of clay in the glazes. Yet it must be
uncalcined: I applied thin and thick. the thin once where boring.
The three bases I used:
All recipes ^6 ox.
1)Falls creek shino
2)Textural glaze, based on the idea of Lana Wilson textural glaze but
built different you can use any similar glaze.
3) MERILEE LAVA GLAZEwitout Sic.
To all the recipes I added 1% Sic100#
and 3% synthetic RIO.
Probably it is not so near the real shino yet I would like to receive
your opinion about this test.
I made an page in my site with the pictures of the results.
I will not add the 12 recipes I made. (I did not make the bases)
.
If any of you interested in a particular recipe I will send it.
