Lowell Baker y familia have been here all week and will be here until =
the 28th. Our castable kiln, burners and blower have been built using =
all local ingredients and parts. Lowell and Ron's inventiveness has =
been put to the test. Just as I knew it would be, the kiln is a total =
success both in terms of it's capabilities and usefullness to studio =
potters here. The number of interested and experienced artists =
attending has been beyond any of our expectations. People have come =
from all over the country. Although the official kiln building workshop =
was scheduled for Tuesday, we have had people in and out, coming to =
watch and ask questions, and offer to help, all week, all the time, and =
finally today sneaked off to eat a turkey lunch. Very intense week, =
and the most satisfying and memorable experience of my 25 years of =
working in clay. Lowell will tell you about it sometime--from his =
perspective-it's his workshop. We leave early in the morning for Lake =
Atitlan-more potters to talk to... We are having a large open house on =
Sunday, and you're all invited to come and drink a mojito. Melinda and =
