So true! Awhile back (maybe 20 years!)
when "sharing jobs" was the trend especially for women with new babies,
(as opposed to "old babies, of course),
we had two math teachers share one postion.... not team-teaching ... but =
with one working mornings, and the other teaching afternoons, three =
classes each. None of the anticipated problems of having to share a =
classroom, supplies, budgets etc occurred. The reason that it didn't =
work was that both teachers wound up being on site for the full school =
day..... for half pay. Great deal for the school. Bad deal for the =
teachers, who returned the following year at fulltime for full pay. It =
seems to me that a teacher in a half-time ceramics position would be =
even less likely to leave by the clock, whenever that might be ...... as =
Jeff implies.

In the Mojave where I witnessed the most phenomenal event ....... on an =
old
dried up shell of half a watermelon that I'd put out for the rabbits =
days ago .... so dried that the rind's colors had faded to=20
tan ..... I could see movement but not what was creating the =
movement.... used binoculars .... to make the delightful discovery that =
the whole inside of the watermelon was lined with butterflies .... not =
sure they were migrating monarchs .... too small, I think ... at least, =
the monarchs that covered the ChinaBerry tree one year were much larger =
..... but same colors. Eventually, they covered the whole rind inside =
and out, even the rim. Incredible. What a glaze! What a pot! AND =
there's snow on the Sierras ......=20
