Well the top Canadian award in craft was presented this week. The brass
ring goes to Leopold Fouleum for his conceptual ceramics. Teapots filled
with wax or epoxy to tell you hey babe don't even think about using this.
Maybe a little tea cup with a "F--- You" decal on the side for a tidy
$3500. Frankly I don't get his stuff, but I'm pleased I was able to predict
the outcome.
the two runners up were Bruce Cochrane and Bob Archambeau. Bruce is one of
the best functional potters on the planet. Impeccible craftsmanship. I
collect his work since i think he is one of the most undervalued potters
today.
Any fool can pick a good bottle of wine, but it takes a wise man to find a
good wine at cheap prices.
Bob Archambeau you might recognize as the Canadian who took top honours at
the Best Functional Show this year- awarded by Linda Christianson. He must
have a cottage at Dan Andersons place???????
So there you have the score of the hockey game.
What a disappointing finish- but so predictable.
cheers,
Tony

For the *old fashioned* functionalists amongst us I am currently
designing a *Stuff the Funk* T shirt (perhaps it would read better if I
replaced *Stuff* with the F word) :-)

Steve: The "F" word may read better but what a tongue twister that would be.

Hi Steve

Love your suggestion! Although, would you get complaints from French Connection UK, who are making money on their trendy clothing etc bearing their initials writ large, supposed to be funny I believe, oh ha ha.

How about "Func not Funk"? Too subtle perhaps?

I wouldn't get any complaints from French Connection; they can't spell
(for those not familiar with FC's clothing its *logo* is the *F* word
with re-arranged spelling!....I'm being charitable).
I like your suggestion though.
