first of all I'd like to give congrats to Ronnie and johnnie for what
appears to be a cone 6 bible.
cone 6 or 10, O or R??????? I say do what ever gets you working in the
studio. If you live in downtown Chicago in a basement flat then get on the
electric kiln bandwagon. Go away once a year and help fire a wood kiln just
for the hell of it. if you live out in the country for god sakes treat
yourself to a small woodie and take a weekend to visit the friend in chicago
and go out to a bar for some blues and beer. I think it often boils down to
life style choices. I have always made choices in my life that include a
woodkiln- can't and won't live where i can't have one. If I were a corporte
lawyer or a high rise window washer i'd have to live where the windows are.
I always wanted a wood kiln so I live where i can have one. I'd love to live
right downtown, but my mistress the woodkiln won't let me.
Anticipation is the best part of a cake. If your kiln still offers you
anticipation then you got the right kiln for you.
cheers,
tony

You must forgive me Tony for my intermediate English in this
case: They say: " Oh lord give me the power to fight what I can give up
what I cannot and know which is which". They say it in nicer words. Yet
I am sure that to many potters professional or even hobbyist your words
might mean: "Perhaps I find something else".
Your wood fired wares are more than great. I will never be able to make
such wares!
Yet in my limits I try, sometime succeed to make nice wares& well
glazed.
.It is true that going down cones, started to save energy, yet and I
am not sure that this is the best example: A small Jaguar does not
drive worse than A big Cadillac
