Thanks to so many folks here for all the ideas to try during my kiln
crisis....wish I didn't take all kiln these problems so personally like the
kiln is some extension of myself!!! Maybe we need a pottery therapy
list....sometimes I do.
I started at the circuit breaker and tightened all connections. I'd found
that inside the receptacle for the plug, the pincher things that grab the
round [common line] part of the plug was sorta sprung and I pinched it
tighter. I also sanded and polished the outlet pinchers and all the prongs
of the plug which looked tarnished...read that somewhere. As I kept working
toward the sitter box I also found a few element connections to the
connector bar that needed to be wiggled tighter onto the bar.
After this I tried a glaze fire and it seemed to do just fine....fingers
crossed!!
I just felt like I needed to report for now in case someone else needs to
try these things.
