dirt-daubers...he-he. I had bunches of those growing up in Kansas. We =
had bon fires at the end of the season, the brush piles had been =
accumulating all year. Back behind our land was a small stream with =
this lovely red clay. Those wasps loved that clay and built wonderful =
nests in the pile. After we lit it up, the next day I would scour the =
ashes for the nests. Some were fired really well, others not so well. =
But we called them mud-daubers tho'. Thanks for the childhood =
memories, hadn't thought of them in years.
