Re: Marg Barlow's comment on Frit 439:

The technician at our ceramics facility at Loyalist College did mix up
one of the glazes Margaret analysed and adjusted for me. We tried a
couple of versions, and they would have needed more testing. Now that
Jean can get GB again, the testing has been dropped.

She did say that the frit didn't stay in suspension. I gather that is
more or less to be expected.

The colour was an "Albany" blue-green, made in an attempt to replicate
an old albany blue recipe that had been partly revised to use Alberta
Slip. We had very little to go on by eye to guage the results on, ie:
similarity to the original glaze, but some of the tests were
promising. Ah well...

If this is a Dal Tile frit, it is soluble. Got this info from the US
supplier. They said they were working to correct the problem. Don't
know if they accomplished it though.

I have three frits with more than 30% B2O3.
Sooner or letter they crystallizes.
This is a half way advantage. You can spray it. It is easier than
mixing borax, with the slurry, but make as much as you need for this
time.
