i have used, for my ceiling, reflective silver insulation sheets. living in
nw pa, insulation is a winter concern. the reflective property of the
insulation sheets is a plus. i too have just completed most of the
renovation of the remaining two stalls of what used to be a four stall
garage - two up front, two in the back (new garage construction starts in
april 2002 :-). we installed in-floor radiant heating. the cost of the
supplies was 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of having the cement floor poured. we are
using a hot h2o tank for the heat source. today was mug and 11" pie day - by
tomorrow night i could safely bisque what i threw today. i dry everything on
the floor, on top of scrap newspaper.

if you can at all see your way to this type of heating system - that is if
you have this concern - do it...you will never be sorry.

Billie, I live in Houston Texas, so heating is not of great concern.
However, I find that January and February seem to be getting colder every
year, so I am planning on finishing off the old garage and putting a heating
system of some sort in it this winter. Could you send me whatever info you
have on the radiant heating that you use in the floor of your studio? Thanx
