When our oven went out, I built a solar oven to make my mulberry pie. A cardboard box painted black with smaller box fitted inside, some bricks in the bottom to retain heat, aluminum foil lining, an old storm window over the top and a big reflecting mirror to direct the sun into the box. (There are plans on line, do a search if you're interested.)

The pie came out fine, but it's steamy in there -- hot and damp.

I later figured out that if I had a pot I needed to rush in drying, I could put it in the solar oven (without the mirror) and it's the warm/damp combination that seems to work well for even drying.

Of course, the weather has to cooperate...

I have also found that very small pieces that need a bit of a rush to make it into a bisque load can be stacked on the trays of my food dryer. I used to dry my tomatoes on screens in the sun, but a few cloudy days can really screw things up!

Yours, Kelly in Ohio
