My observations are similar to Gayle's although besides my family needing my
attention, I also had to deal with an auto accident causing problems for me.
Now back to the clay, I feel less scattered, more focused, more confident.
Because of the inner peace, I can tune in better and therefore, do better
work. Somehow, with a bit of maturity comes wisdom in dealing with life and
hopefully that improves our clay work also. Always moving forward, always
searching and trying new things, trying to master the next step....that keeps
us young. Some talented people can make incredible pieces from the get-go.
Some of us have to work very hard at it. Clay is a journey for many of us,
with pitfalls and successes. Maybe the longer we live, the more we have to
put into our pots, consciously and subconsciously. Tony Clennell says "the
pot is the person." Think about that. We have a lot to offer now. Toni
