Waxing bottoms, Hummmm, can't say that I have ever done it my self, butt =
I have heard that spreading the wax on with a wooden stick (you know, =
like one the doctor used when he says open wide) is the best way to =
apply the wax. Then firmly press a cloth over the wax before it gets =
cold and pull off in the opposite direction in which the wax was =
applied. Repeat if necessary to remove all hair. Oooooohhh...... =
Ummmm..... gulp.....I see I should have read the posts a little better, =
I see I spoke of the wrong type of bottoms!!! (to be honest, too little =
sleep, too much strong coffee and reading several subject lines =
en-titled "waxing bottoms" I just couldn't hold back any longer, =
sorry.... giggle....) Seriously, I rarely wax the bottom of my pots, I =
usually just wipe the glaze off of the bisqueware with a wet sponge but =
if I do wax, I found having the wax hot enough is the key (as other's =
have already said), the 240 to 250 range seems to work best for me and I =
use regular kitchen wax.=20
By the way, I should introduce my self, I was a Clayart lurker about a =
year ago but found my self short of time and had to leave the list, now =
I have a bit more time and thought I'd come aboard again. I am dreaming =
of going to the Clayart NCECA and exchanging mugs (or in my case tea, or =
small sushi bowls with sgraffito decoration) otherwise I shall do the =
stay-at-home exchange again. (Last year I got a beautiful textured mug =
from Jeanne Wood which I proudly display when not in use)=20

woods.
