This is something i just worked out on my process.
I guess it depends on how you are forming them.
My cracks were coming from pressing tiles. I got an s
crack roughly in the middle of the tile(on multiples
always in the same spot).
For me it was all about pressure. I went from
Giorgini's hand press to a 12 ton hydraulic. My loss
went from between 20 and 50%, to zero in the switch.
Are you using a heavily grogged body? If not that
could contribute also.
