thought you might enjoy a story as told by one of Canada's most esteemed
authors- Margaret Atwood. Marg was at a dinner party and ended up talking to
a neuro-surgeon. he said i love your writing. When I retire from being a
neuro-surgeon, I'm going to be a writer. She replied "When I retire from
writing, I'm going to be a neuro-surgeon.
Give em hell, marg.
Cheers,

Oh God bless her! What a hoot. Can't tell you how many times people
have said "I wish _I_ could be an artist and didn't have to work for a
living. It must be so RELAXING!!!" So why am I procrastinating about
starting this portrait I need to have done by the 29th, and why is my
stomach in knots over it...???

I thought of that during the recent "take up painting" thread--yep, it only
took me 6-7 years or so to get to where I felt like I could do a pretty good
job most of the time with watercolors...and I STILL have days when I can't
do diddly...
