Ivor wrote, in part, about Cornwall Stone:

"But it can be a bit of a problem with some early melting glazes and cause
pinholing. Calcined stone would not suffer from this fault."

Happy Christmas Ivor,
I bought some old Cornwall Stone off an ex-potter and devised a glaze with
it that came out as smooth as silk, glossy, not a pinhole anywhere. I used
2% cobalt carb, 2% copper carb and 5% rutile for colour and it came out a
nice gunmetal blue, in April. BUT, and there always is a BUT isn't there,
in October, when I used it again, it had turned a dull olive green that was
irredeemable.

Any ideas why?

Best regards,
Carol
