Dear Bob: How the heck do you cut silicon carbides?????? Also what kind of
drill bit do you use. I think this is an interesting concept of yours.
I have some that are too long for my wood kiln that I would like to cut.
thanks a bunch.
cheers,
Tony

Tony,
My Materials supplier in Cork has the equipment, their main
business is
refractory engineering. I will have to wait until after the new year to ask
them but
in the meantime I see there are already a couple of answers to the cutting
part.
I just stand and watch as this old beat-up saw and then drill work as if the
shelves
were made of timber.
The idea of the four cuts came from the shelf manufacturers in U.K. and they
sent
these measurements to my supplier. I will find out about the drill bit and
let you know
in due course.
Regards,
Bob

The shelves we use in the gas and enamel kilns come cut this way from the
factory.
