Glass Fusing with Judith Finn Conway

Glass, in its purest form, is made of soda, ash and lime, transformed by =
heat into a molten mass that, when cool, becomes the transparent material =
that has fascinated mankind for over 4000 years. Many of it's firing =
properties are closely related to clay ....

Join Judith in exploring the process of fusing layers of colored glass =
that have been cut to shape, stacked and heated in a kiln. Observe the =
changes it goes through in the firings and see how the manipulation of =
heat, time and gravity transforms the layers of glass into a work of fine =
art. Judith will demonstrate cutting, firing and manipulating the glass =
while inspiring your creativity. There will be a slide show of her pieces =
and other glass artists. Students will also try their hand at designing a =
glass project at the end of the class. =20

Judith Finn Conway has been working with glass for the past 25 years. She =
has taught glass classes throughout the Washington DC area and her work is =
featured in numerous collections and galleries. She has been featured in =
many articles in the mid-Atlantic region and is a contributing editor and =
reviewer in Glass Craftsman Magazine.

Class size is limited =AF register early!!

To anyone who is interested, our local clay supply store, Carolina Clay
Connection, in Charlotte, NC, is holding a glass fusing workshop on Sept 7
and 8 taught by Brad Walker, author of the book 'Contemporary Warm Glass',
which is apparently somehow connected to the Warm Glass website
www.warmglass.com

I have no financial interest AT ALL, just sharing this information for
anyone who may be interested.
