Dear Connie,

This is a followup to my original post answering your questions. My
computer got disconnected or they would have been together.
There are some very good sources for learning about glazes. If you are
firing in electric to ^6
then the first book to come to mind is the soon to be released book by
Ron Roy and John Hesselreth
(sp)<- I am bad about that.My apologies, John. If you are firing to ^10
in reduction, you should look into the Val Cushing book which I believe
is now only available through him. To really browse through ceramics
books, get Steve Branfman of the Potters Shop to send you a catalog
(asap as the winter sale is on)
WARNING!!! This can costs you lots because he has a wonderful selection
at reduced rates.
You could try some basic intro books...I think Nelson's is a basic ..or
was. It all depends on how deep you want to plunge! Take a workshop from
Ian Curry next time he comes through the States.
For electric wonders, Lana Wilson but not for the glazes you
mentioned.Or the Richard Burkett/Lana Wilson combo sounded great.
Search the archives too. There is a real wealth of info there.
Best wishes,
Marcia
