Dear Beardie Paw,

Hi, I just went to the Ohaus web site and did a product search on model 1650SD, and nothing came up (They do have a 1650-00, "Dial-O-Gram" which is a single pan that allows part of the weight to be "dialed in"). However, looking through their range of balances and scales, I found the following page for a model 1560-SD:

http://www.ohaus.com/products/glo/scripts/view/viewproduct.asp?Recno=1560-SD&Source=2

(copy all of the above two lines into the address or location box of your web browser.)

A picture of the balance with the specifications and a description are given.

From the description you have provided, this may be the same balance you won in the bid. Although it is not meant to be used to weigh out materials, as long as you have the appropriate weight on one of the pans, you can weigh up to 2000g of materials on the other pan. If the balance did not come with a set of weights (masses), you should obtain a set of masses with at least the following:

1000g - one, 500g - one,
200g - one, 100g - one.

A full set will have more. Using these weights (masses) in combination with the sliding weights on the balance, you should be able to weigh out any material up to 2000g.
