China : Foshan International Ceramics Conference in Foshan/Guangzhou, China

Jingdezhen Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute invites you to attend an important
international conference in Foshan/Guangzhou, China. Work with porcelain and
learn traditional and contemporary techniques with Chinese master potters
and international artist/educators. Scholarships are available.
Two weeks of personal studio practice, workshops and demonstrations
(including contemporary sculpture practices, porcelain throwing, underglaze
blue and enamels, brush making, Chinese calligraphy and ink painting),
living in a village setting and local touring of kiln sites.
Two weeks of travel to important ceramic cultural sites in China.
Session #1 “Alfred and Jingdezhen” May 24 - June 23
Celebrate the deep connections between Alfred University and Jingdezhen,
China.
Fly to Hong Kong, attend the Foshan International Ceramics Conference,
including Exhibition and Film Festival. Travel to Jingdezhen for the Sanbao
Summer School program featuring Professor Walter McConnell of Alfred
University. Then to Xian for the Army of Terracotta Warriors and Beijing for
the Forbidden City and Great Wall.
