winter trip to new mexico and arizona

Just about thirty miles north of Phoenix, on I-17, there is a small shop
where they have some wonderful Mata Ortiz pottery for sale. The owner
herself travels to Mexico to collect, so her prices are quite
reasonable. The shop is at the Rock Springs exit, right near the Rock
Springs Cafe (west side of the freeway, so you exit at the Rock Springs
sign as you travel north, then you have to cross over and head back south a
bit on the access road, but not far). I wish I could remember the name of
her shop, but it escapes me at the moment! She has lots of wonderful other
things imported from all over also.

If you decide to head up to the shop, and have a bit of free time, you are
welcome to come visit my pottery studio, just a mile off I-17 at the
northernmost Phoenix exit. Check my web page for my phone number and give
me a call, I'd love to give you a tour! www.desertdragonpottery.com

Happy New Year! I'm new to Clay Art and have enjoyed all of the information
and insights that you all have shared. My husband and I are taking a trip
to New Mexico and Arizona this Feb. and would welcome recommendations on
pottery related areas. I'm particularly interested in Mata Ortiz pottery
and wondered if anyone can suggest where I can see and/or buy good pieces.
Thank you - Gail
