I have just had a look at some comparative figures and though I may be =
wrong because I have made the wrong assumptions, it would appear that =
Lead Oxide at cone 6 has about the same degree of volatility as water at =
46 Celsius. That means it evaporates pretty quickly. But this may not =
happen with a fully fritted glaze where you would be dealing with a =
silicate, not an oxide.
Looking in Rhodes' Clays and Glazes I get the idea that Lead Oxide =
should be phased out of glazes beyond cone 4.
