Hi Platemakers
A way I have used at times is=20
Roll slab of clay. Thickness depends on turning a footring or not.
Place on board on wheel head, spin wheel and gently press with a damp =
sponge to fix slab to board.
With wheel spinning cut to required diameter with a spike
Hold sponge onto clay disc about 1 inch or more from rim and gently turn =
up rim using wet thin plastic(credit card). Shape rim with fingers or =
wet sponge.
When clay is firm decorate with slips etc on or off wheel.
Turn if necessary supporting plate on suitable disc of clay or wood.
Plates sometimes need slight weight to keep flat while drying.
Good luck=20
