A poem by Orkney (Scotland) author George Mackay Brown (whom, years
ago, I met!) =20
http://www.georgemackaybrown.co.uk/gmb/80thcelebration.htm=20
Into the hands of every unborn soul is put a lump of the
original clay, for him to mould vessels =96 a bowl and a lamp
=96 the one to sustain him, the other to lighten him through
the twilight between two darknesses, birth and death.
from Martyr, Orkney Tapestry 1969=20

http://www.clayandglass.on.ca/members/jmacintosh.htm=20
Canadian artist whose Japanese brush painting technique goes beyond
the mundane on her quiet and elegant pottery forms. =20

Gregg Luginbuhl=20
http://www.bluffton.edu/~luginbuhlg/=20
Professor of art at Bluffton College, Lima Ohio=20
Sculptor working sometimes lyrically, sometimes conceptually in clay. =20

Pieces mostly hand built, or occasionally wheel thrown with additions.=20

Photos of studio processes include clay blunging, screening, drying,

delightful=20

Links to Polish pottery and Delft ware=20
The best decorated Polish pottery I have seen. =20
Brushwork is finer and colour work is more modulated than most of the
Polish imports I've been seeing on the web. =20
Also contemporary Netherlands Delft pottery=20
What I don't know is whether the Polish is cast then hand-decorated,
or thrown. =20
I'm thinking that it's likely cast, and that the Delft is cast as
well. =20
