tile mosaic and my house

I think Gayle had intended this post to go privately but forgot to change
the address. So glad I am not alone in making that mistake. I did think
that there was an aspect to her thoughts that was relevant to the list. I
did sell the house and getting it back is not an option. There is a lesson
here. Do not sell your house until you have another one lined up. I am
still trying to find a place that will allow me to do all that my house
allowed me to do but this time I am doing it alone. It is daunting at best
and I have not been very successful. Enough to make me follow that fellow
in Florida's lead and run a CM ad: "looking for hermit potter who wants a
partner in clay." But I am not a hermit and really do enjoy being out with
people so I am trying to find something that will not isolate me as clay
can do when we work out of our homes.

When my house was being purchased, the buyer told me that he would not
have bought it if it had not had the ceramic that I had put into it. It was
assessed at 105,000 and sold for 145,000. Only the ceramic made that
possible. So I guess my thought is that we should not be afraid to express
ourselves in our homes because it in this case, it made all the difference.

Terry has kindly kept my work on the center's website and has added photos
of work that I did for other people's homes so I would love it if you would
take a look. The round island was done for a friend's kitchen and remains a
favorite of mine. Technically, I was pleased that it came out almost
perfect in fit after it was fired. I think I made one cut on one of the
edge tiles when installing it. This friend/client even made a little gold
plate for his bathroom (the countertop with the sink that rests on top of
the counter is his bathroom) which reads "The Blossom Room, ceramic artwork
by Linda Blossom." Can't get much nicer than having a room named after you!
I have great faith in peoples' willingness to appreciate and desire unique
things in their homes.
