Hello,
I am just signing back on to clay art after 1 year of silence. I am glad to
be back.
I have been commisioned to make a communion set, chalice and platen. Any
suggestions on a liner glaze to use with wine or grape juice, (as may be the
case). I have read several threads that indicated wine and grape juice may
be acidic. Thank you, Angela

Angela, I would suggest that you create colour in anything to be used for
drink or food by adding the stain or oxide only to the slip.
Then line, at least the inside and lip, with a clear leadless glaze,
guaranteed food safe.
Most suppliers will sell you a serviceable clear glaze, if you give your
cone and clay details.
If you make up your own clear glaze, then it should still be tested for
content and leaching.

Dear Angela,
I use Tony Hansen's 20 x 5 with 12% Zircon to line most of my mugs.
If you do not find it in the archives, I will send you the recipe to try.
