I have been handbuilding large platters with Aradvark Bee Mix 5 and I
would like to try a porcelain with a little more tooth that can with
stand alot of manipulations without being too heavily grogged. I have
access to easily purchasing Standard, Highwater, Campbell, Tucker and
Aradvark. I fire to electric cone 6. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Hi Rachel,

A thought for you with all the recommendations you've received about clays
to try would be to contact the manufacturers and see if you can get samples
of some of the clays. You may end up paying shipping, but it might be
preferable to having to buy a quantity of a clay that you find you don't
especially like, or that doesn't work with the way you work.

My understanding is that many of the manufacturers are willing to provide
samples to a serious ceramic user.
