Hi Rachael,

I have been using Highwater's P-5, which fires to cone 6. Someone on the
list suggested it to me sometime ago, when I was looking for a good cone =
6
porcelain, and I really like it. It is good for handbuilding and throwing=
,
is good to work with, trims well in throwing, and takes the glazes well.

I have been using it for about 2 years now and, although I have tried oth=
er
cone 6 porcelains, I have returned to P-5.

Good luck in your search.

All the best.

Veena

would like to try a porcelain with a little more tooth that can with
stand alot of manipulations without being too heavily grogged. I have
access to easily purchasing Standard, Highwater, Campbell, Tucker and
Aradvark. I fire to electric cone 6. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Dear Veena,

I have tried the P-5 in the past. I liked the attributes of P-5 you
mentioned, also. But, when I compared with other Cone 6 porcelain bodies,
the P-5 had more crazing for a given clear glossy glaze. What is your
opinion on this? Mariko
