Have you had a chance to look at Brent's catalog? or a major supplier's
catalog? I don't want to sound like a know-it-all, but a couple of years
ago our center purchased a standing wheel from them after putting one of our
Brents on cinder blocks for a workshop. We opted for a new wheel rather
than a cinder block platform because of the safety issue (being a city
sponsored and run clay center. Liability, you know.). I was throwing on
the cinder block model and found it very acceptable. I am rather tall and
have a ruptured disc, so sitting an throwing was not do-able for me. If
you haven't tried this yet, It may surprise you and let you keep your old
trusty wheel and spare the expense of a new one.
Hope this helps you, and if not you, then someone else on the list. 8-)

my brent kickwheel is still for sale for $400. new
ones are listed in the catalog for $1000. i've had to
switch to throwing while standing and am now using a
borrowed electric wheel.
it is in great condition with a very heavy flywheel
that spins forever.
i live on orcas island in washington state and would
consider delivering it within a reasonable distance
since the old durango (our truck) is not in as good a
shape as the kickwheel. thanks
