Hello,
Some controllers can be set for different types of thermocouples and some
can't. Be sure to check if yours can before ordering different types of
thermocouples. I prefer Type S because of the long life and the accuracy.
They only start to drift at the end of their life span. We have Type S
thermocouples at Orton that have been used for years and are still working
fine. Our Type S start at $75 and go up from there depending on the length,
so they are not that expensive considering the life span.
