Hey all,
Trying to get some ideas going for a potential group show I might be doing
and had a great idea, but I'm not sure how to make it come off. Have
experimented some with clay press molds, using a rough clay and have some
raku clay to work with...
Wanting to cast some flat objects with subtle surface variation for use as
wall hangings or plates... reproductions to be made with porcelain or white
stoneware. Will probably try the clay molds and then fire them themselves
when done, but not sure the surface will translate between a rough clay mold
and such a fine clay impressed into it. Still interested in the potential
though - relic looking.
Can anyone direct me to a good source for alternative methods? Haven't
had much experience with plaster, but willing to try.
Thanks, Camille

You might want to check out Frank Giorgini's book, HANDMADE TILES. It sounds
like the process that you want is very similar to tile making.
