I don"t foot them..I make sure the bottom is flat and dries flat, but I
have occasionally used lugs in the four corners, or two bars, one across
each end, for larger serving platters...
It is so funny answering these visual questions using language,,really
hard!

Lying in bed this morning and reading the newspaper I looked up and saw a
perfect mold for a square plate!
It is the glass cover on the overhead light in the ceiling.
I will have to spirit it away to my studio and drape it in clay. A perfect
sushi plate and with two scallops per edge to boot.

How about an article with photos in PMI for those of us who don't have a
hope in hell of ever getting to NCECA? (Unless, maybe, it's in Seattle )

I'm with Dai on this one. There are many of us who will never get to NCECA
unless it comes very close to the border in the Big Northwest Rainforest.

How about a mag article?

Dai,

Your suggestion for having Elca explain her process in PMI is a very good
one. PMI is an excellent vehicle for Clayarters to visually describe some of
their techniques and I am quite receptive to submissions. Not everyone gets
to NCECA (approx. 4,000) and the 18,000 readers of PMI provides a great and
appreciative audience.
