Dorothy -
I think it was pretty clear that this was not a personal attack directed
towards you, so there is no reason for you to be so defensive. If Robbin
Hopper included a business card in each purchase, it was because he wanted
customers to be able to contact him. That is common sense and good business
practices, and is in no way remotely comparable to broadcasting his email
address to the Clayart list. It is evident that this information is
available on his website, as someone else pointed out, which makes it pretty
public, but that doesn't change this issue at all. It takes no more effort
to send the requested personal contact information directly to the person
who requested the information, and it is just common sense and common
courtesy to do so.

The loss of privacy represented by the information age is very disturbing to
many people. Some people do not care much and readily put their contact
information out there. It is pretty obvious that I am not trying to guard
my own privacy, because I include all of my contact information with every
email message and every Clayart post. But many people are very sensitive to
this issue, and as I said, it is a matter of common courtesy to avoid
broadcasting what could be personal information to the entire Clayart
membership.

So, unless someone has made it clear that they WANT their contact
information spread far and wide, it is an invasion of privacy to do so,
regardless of where else that contact information appears. It is as simple
as that.
Best wishes -
