kaowool under the kiln lid

I was interested in a post a while back about using ceramic kaowool on the
underside of the kiln lid to help insulate. I have read Jonathan's posts and
will probably attempt the sides when I redo the elements but would like to
do the lid first since there is a lot of heat lost through there. I can't
really see putting on another layer of brick because of the kiln lid size
(Olympic 3027). Has anybody done this and how has it worked?
Thanks!

Scott,
Put it on top of your lid or just on top of the brick for a tighter seal. Do
not put it under the lid unless you are particularly fond of crap in your
fired glaze.
