Dear Friends, has anyone who purchased Mastering Cone 6 Glazes tried anyof
the recipes on Porcelain yet? I am at the end of my porcelain supply, so I
only tested on stoneware, white and brown. Those results were wonderful.
Just curious because I won't have any porcelain to test for a couple of
weeks. Do I sound impatient? I am because these fellows, John and Ron have
put together such a valuable tool for us. I can't wait to get back down in
the studio and mix up more. Also, I like the results so much I am having a
hard time choosing which ones I want to make up big batches of. So you
porcelain potters....please let us know as soon as you test. Toni Smith,
feeling so happy about Clayart, about clay, about John/Ron's book, about
sharing. (PS, remember slow cooling is the trick to get the nice matte
finishes.. I even figured it out with my 20 year old kiln and a wacky
pyrometer that has a mind of its own.)

We did our glazes on both kinds - a brown stoneware and porcelain - John
has sometimes indicated in the notes for each glaze what clay they were on
- I suggest you try them on both - sometimes the difference is noticable
and other times it does not seem to matter.

Sometimes you can see which clay was used at the bottom of Johns mugs - but
not on may saki bottles.

You will get a a little more melting when on porcealin - so be careful
about application.
