Hi Holly, I think the important thing here is what else is on the computer.
You need mswork, or msoffice, so their spell checks are called into play. I
don't have either just now, so there is no spell check on my computer . I
have oe6. Alas. Rikki Gill rikigil@cwnet.com

The philistines are at the gates again. My new outlook express [#6] no
longer has a spell check. Why? because microsoft wants you to buy Office,
which does. I am trying to find an alternative, and will post when I do.
In the meantime, expect errors. The download spell check is awful. Rikki

Rikki,
That's odd, I have Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000, and when I am typing my
messge, I can choose Tools/Spelling, or hit F7, and the spell checker comes
up. What is your version?

Hmm, I use Outlook Express Version 6 and mine spell checks all documents
before it sends them - good thing too - my spelling is horrible:) Did you
look in the Tools-Options-Spelling setup to see if the spell check option is
selected?

Holly,
You must have one of the Office programs, probably Microsoft Word. The
Help index in Outlook Express 6 says:

"Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following
Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and
Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs
installed, the Spelling command is not available."

Well, my OE6 still has the old spell checker. just click on
tools-options-spelling to make sure it is turned on.
