i am sure someone has already mentioned this, but
don't have the time to search ..... by far the best
way to get plates off the wheelhead or bats is to
throw on plaster bats. as the clay drys, it shrinks
and releases itself from the bat - a simple and easy
solution - i throw all my stuff on plaster bats - if
you throw well, do some pretriming with a wooden knife
type tool when you are finished, you hardly have to
trim with the pot releases from the plaster bat -
obviously plates and bowls require some triming.
