The first link below talks about the closing of the "brick-firing" plant =
in Mexico, MO.

This second link is to article that I read about a month ago dealing =
with "restructuring" at Harbison/Walker. No doubt the closing of the =
plant in Mexico is just a part of this process..

My school had ordered about 2500 various bricks from RHI refractories in
early December and they were supposed to be shipped directly from this
plant, but because of the closing our order was delayed and had to be
shipped from multiple locations resulting in more freight costs and the
bricks arrived a month late. But, alas, the salt kiln is firing as we speak
and the wood kiln is almost finsihed and we're going to begin breaking her
in next week.

Brandon, in ugly abilene, but its worth it for the wood kiln

Side-note, if you are in need of a multitude of bricks (1000+) RHI is a good
place to order from. We purchased Clippers(super-duty firebrick) for $1.24
each and 2600 insulating bricks for $2.44 each and 2300 insulating fiber for
$48 per box. I ordered through Thomas Drews at the Dallas warehouse, very
nice to work with.
