hey guys,

this semester i am teaching an extruded ceramics class in which we are making our
own solid and hollow dies. we are making aluminum dies backed with 1/2" birch
plywood. they are coming out beautiful and we are having great results. the
aluminum is 3/16" old texas road signs we got free from the city. we are cutting
with a simple coping saw using a bench pin and then cleaning up with files and
again, they are turning out fantastic. the extrusions are clean and the dies are
very strong. we have two of the bailey power extruders and we are having a blast.
if you need any more info let me know.
