Our very own clayart's Russel Fouts will be giving a workshop at Deborah
Goletz's studio in West Milford, NJ on March 23rd and 24th. Her studio
is near the NY border (not far from Warwick NY) It's 36 miles from NYC,
about 35 minutes from Parsippany, NJ.
The cost will be $120 for two days and the workshop will run from 10:00
to about 4:00.
A description of the workshop can be found at his website
http://www.mypots.com/PawleysIslandWorkshop2.htm
and his pots can be see as well at
http://www.mypots.com
Ever since I first saw Russel's work at NCECA, I've been drooling over
it. He calls himself a 'pot fondler' on his website and having seen the
tactile nature of his work, I can certainly understand why. Although his
website as well as his posts have shared a generous amount of detail
about his use of terra sig and his aluminum foil saggar firings in an
electric kiln, there's nothing quite like the opportunity to see it first
hand from the master himself.
I hope those of you living in the area will be able to join us. There
are a few members of my guild who have a room available if someone is
coming from a distance. Please get in touch soon if you have further
questions or would like to register. Space is limited.
